Spiritus: A Journal of Christian Spirituality
Aims Spiritus is an interdisciplinary, ecumenical journal devoted to scientific study of Christian spirituality. It is the official journal of the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality.
Its principal aims are the following:
- promoting research and dialogue in the burgeoning interdisciplinary field of spirituality
- discussing new studies and tr ans lations of major works in the field of spirituality
- analysing the characteristics of spirituality as a new academic discipline, with special reference to methodology and interpretation
- encouraging interdisciplinary and inter-confessional dialogue, with a view to including as many expressions of Christian spirituality as possible while maintaining an open dialogue with other spiritual traditions
- studying connections between spirituality and cultural analysis (including literary and artistic expressions, social activism, racial and gender issues, and new forms of spiritual practice)
- stimulating research into the history of Christian spirituality (in conjunction with ongoing publication of critical editions of classical texts)
