Sometimes spirituality is a labyrinth. The word 'spirituality' is used for just about anything that is at all profound or out of the ordinary (292.000 hits on Google). It is difficult to trace the necessary basic information to facilitate the search.
This is where the Titus Brandsma Institute wants to be of service. It is a centre that provides a preliminary orientation to the field of spirituality.
• You will find specialised information in the library of the Titus Brandsma Institute, which you can obtain via various search operations.
• We keep you informed of courses and introductions offered by staff of the Titus Brandsma Institute.
• We provide the names of lecturers and counsellors, indicating the areas in which they can assist you.
• You are given a basic introduction to the field of lived spirituality in the form of key words, with references to where the particular theme is dealt with in Speling .
• You are given a list of recent works on spirituality and where they can be obtained.
Courses and training
Since 1 September 2005 the courses and training formerly offered by the Titus Brandsma Institute have been incorporated into the curriculum of the School for Spirituality. See: School voor Spiritualiteit.
As a result the number of courses on offer has been reduced substantially. But this does not mean that requests for introductions, retreats, counselling, et cetera can no longer be met. The idea is that you should contact the staff members listed on Titus Brandsma Institute>Dienstverlening>In- and begeleiders directly by e-mail, hence no longer via the secretariat of the Titus Brandsma Institute.
There are two exceptions: the two-year course, "Dialogue on the spiritual way" and "The mystical way in pastoral work and spiritual counselling". Information about these can be found on: Titus Brandsma Institute > Dienstverlening > Cursusaanbod. |
