Studies in Spirituality Supplements vormt, de titel verraadt het reeds, een aanvulling op het tijdschrift Studies in Spirituality. Het bevat monografieën op het terrein van de wetenschappelijke studie van spiritualiteit en mystiek. Sommige onderwerpen zijn dermate omvangrijk, dat ze niet in enkele tientallen pagina's te vatten zijn. Waar een tijdschriftartikel de auteur noopt tot compactheid, biedt de Supplements serie de mogelijkheid een onderwerp uit te diepen in al zijn details.
